Outdoor Enthusiasts,

NOTICE: OHV Enthusiasts!!!

There are two very important dates to mark on your calendars!!!!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 27, 2001: A Clean up at Dynamite Road & Pima. Even more important than the "clean up" process is the "SHOWING" of OUR NUMBERS!!!!

They want to GRAB some more lands away from the recreationists. This is a piece of State Land that the City of Scottsdale wants CLOSED!!! Actually they have petitioned the State Land Dept. to make a "preserve" in the Granite Mtn area. This will EXCLUDE OHV's! The State Land Dept. does not
want this parcel closed but will "fall to the pressure" if WE DON'T SHOW WE WANT IT OPEN FOR OUR USE!!!!!

The Clean Up starts at 9:00 a.m............ most clean ups we've worked are done at noon or shortly thereafter. Bring rakes, shovels & gloves. If a club wants to do a run in the afternoon it could fit into your plans to "wheel" or "play" for the afternoon.

DIRECTIONS: North east corner of Pima and Dynamite roads. There is a parking area not visible from the road which is directly below the 2 sets of powerlines on the North East corner. There will be orange arrows with a large sign saying "Volunteer Cleanup" pointing into the parking area.

Taking Pima Rd north, Dynamite is after Pinnacle Peak and Happy Valley Rds. You'll have to turn right (east) onto Dynamite Rd and make a U-turn around the median, although you'll see the sign pointing into the parking area from the intersection of Pima and Dynamite.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2001.......... VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!
6:00 p.m. Desert Canyon Middle School cafeteria
10203 E. McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd, Scottsdale

WE NEED APPROXIMATELY 500 + TO "OUTNUMBER THE ANTI-MOTORIZED FOLKS" SO DON'T PUT THIS OFF TO "SOMEONE ELSE TO ATTEND". IT'S TIME YOU JOINED THE FIGHT............. WE'VE LOST ENOUGH GUYS..... WE NEED ALL OF YOU........... EVEN IF YOU'RE TIRED AFTER A HARD DAYS WORK. IF YOU DON'T MAKE THE EFFORT YOU WILL NOT HAVE LANDS TO ENJOY IN YOUR 'RELAXING TIME'.

We are asked to wear a RED HAT or SHIRT.......... WE NEED TO BE SEEN!!!!! You don't have to speak.... just SHOW!!

DIRECTIONS: Go north on Thompson Peak Parkway off Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. over the bridge to McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd, then turn right to the school.

Our "lands" and "trails" are being taken or closed every day. If we don't "get off our rocking chairs" we might as well get comfortable because that's all we'll have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
